Anyone who’s known me long, or has been following my work, knows how important Wade Belak was to me. More than a hockey player, more than a brother firefighter, he was a friend. I have been trying to come up with a way to honor him since last summer’s news.  

In an effort to honor Wade, and remind Jennifer, Andie Marie and Alex we still love and support them, I am launching my Wade Belak memorial fund drive. I want to raise money for the Andie and Alex Belak Scholarship Fund.  

Here are the details:  I am going to be selling blue and gold Wristbands. The wrist bands will say  Wade Belak #3 and Heaven Got a Lot Tougher.   I will be selling the Wristbands for $5.00 and also accepting pre-orders (to help fund the production and shipping costs.)   The bands will then be available via this site, as well as at different Predators home games I am attending.  In addition to the bands, there will be some autographed Predators items.  These will range from Autographed Preds Presses to 3 VERY Special Pucks. More details on those pucks will be coming at a later time.

By taking the pre-orders, 100% of proceeds will go Directly to the Scholarship Fund.

UPDATE 2/16/12- 8:00pm  

I am completely Overwhelmed at the response so far. Thank You all so much! I will try to figure out a good way to mail wristbands to anyone interested, I am hoping to have the first 300 ordered within 24 hours. Should be delivered here in Nashville in about 2 weeks. We Will go from there to see how to best mail them. 

Update 2/18/12   

I received the confirmation this morning. The wristbands are in production. I am still taking pre-orders and donations online. Still working on most cost effective way to ship the bands. Thank you all again for your support. Keep checking back to bigbenpreds.section303.com for more info.
